Meet our Instructors!
Currently a grad student at UMass, Amherst studying her Master’s in Education, Miss Taylor received her pre-professional ballet training at Pioneer Valley Ballet, in Easthampton, Ma. Taylor has performed in numerous shows throughout the valley, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid to name a few! She continued her studies in Boston, Ma at Northeastern University. While there she became a choreographer in and the president of the largest dance group on campus. She has been teaching alongside Cassie since 2010, and has been working along side her and The Children’s Ballet and Movement company for the past four years.
Raised on a farm in Rochester, MA, Angela Weigel began dancing at the age of 3 studying a variety of styles including: ballet, jazz, hip hop, musical theater and more! She is currently studying dance and psychology with a minor in education and a certificate in developmental disabilities and human services at UMass, Amherst. Miss Angie has choreographed and performed through her dance major department and is also a company member with the UMass Dance Company. Following her graduation in 2019 she hopes to dance professionally and become a dance movement therapist working for children with disabilities.
Melissa Cleary Pearson
Prior to joining the teaching staff at The Children’s Ballet & Movement Co. Missy has directed, stage managed and performed for various production companies in New York City before moving back to the Pioneer Valley in 2008. After graduating from UMass Amherst theater department with a concentration in Direction, she found a niche as a children’s musical theater instructor at the Academy of Music and for Green Room Productions. She loves to build on kids natural creative instincts to give them confidence for the stage. Most recently Missy joined the dance company Legible Bod(ies), performing their eclectic dance pieces through out the valley.
